MY STORY

Since a very young age, Art & Design was always a big passion of mine. I loved to draw! I was drawn into every beautifully presented Book, any pretty painting, I was obsessed with colours and playing with Watercolours and Acrylics. If anything had some amazing Artwork or Illustrations in it, it sucked me in!  Needless to say, my favourite class in school was Art & Design. It was all I wanted to do. I waited for that class.

Once I finished college and I had to really think about what I wanted to do career wise, I was torn. Did I want to continue with going down the road of a passion for Art work or do I throw myself into the world of Fashion Design, Business and Marketing .  I had loved Textiles throughout school and college, my art had developed I loved playing with textures and getting creative.  Fashion was also a big passion of mine. 

I was encouraged to go with the latter and I felt, at the time that was the right thing to do! I enjoyed it and I learned a huge amount which has got me to where I am today, but Art & Design has always been there in the background..

A good few years ago,  when the world came to a stand still, it encouraged me to take a break from work and to just re-engage with my passion. I found the time to draw and to paint. At which point, a small group of friends started asking me to create bespoke pieces for friends and family! I started selling a few pieces on Etsy to test the waters and very quickly after, Darling Gem Designs was born.

But, apart from that who am I?  I live in Hertfordshire with my Husband and Tabby Cat (Thomas). I own most things Purple and I like to Bake also, I like to cook and I love finding new adventures! Setting myself new Challenges every year is a must aswell as seeing new Countries!  I will hunt down the BEST Doughnut shop in every new City I visit and Sundays are made for Roast Dinners and Harry Potter.
